ADMISSIONS
Young ladies benefiting from Falcon Ridge Ranch are those that require
a structured 24 hours per day environment followed by strategic therapy
and academic program that meets the individual needs of each student.
We do not restrict admissions based upon ethnic or cultural background
or religious beliefs.
Admissions Criteria
- Female, 12-17 years of age.
- Having problems with the family...
- communications difficulties, lack of respect for other family
members and authority, lack of respect for others property, non-compliant
behaviors, physically aggressive, running away, stealing from
other family members, lying, lack of care and concern with other
family members and will not adhere to family rules.
- Failing in school, not going to school.
- Poor performance in school, acting out, exhibiting mild to moderate
learning disabilities.
- Poor choice of friends.
- Problems relating to personal and emotional functioning.
- Substance abuse, poor self-esteem, poor judgement making skills
- Problems in functioning in public, such as at a job, school, church,
etc...
- Poor social skills.
- Stealing, lying, vandalism.
- Sexual promiscuity.
At Falcon Ridge Ranch we are committed to finding the most appropriate
care for each of the students. If we are unable to meet all of the
students needs or all of our beds are full we help parents locate a
place that is appropriate for the student. In order to be able to do
this it is relevant that we collect all information possible from the
parents, guardians, counselors, therapists, physicians, previous professionals
who have worked with the students. The results of any testing, or any
information that is available is reviewed and used in the individual
treatment plan of each student.
Admission Exclusionary Criteria
- Physical handicaps which limit the ones ability to participate
fully in the program.
- Sever Psychiatric disorder.
- Intelligence quotient of 80 or lower or a severe learning disability.
- Borderline students will be looked at on an individual basis.
- Impairment resulting from and accident that has caused trauma to
the brain.
- Significant organic brain syndrome.
- Medical illness will be looked at on an individual basis, such
as diabetes, illness due food allergies.
- Chronic violent behaviors-incompatible with group living.
